Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the cost of running the Rome Symphony?
A: Our budget for 9 concerts in the 2018 – 2019 season is $200,000.
Q: How much does it cost for one concert?
A: The cost of a performance ranges from $15,000 – $20,000 depending on the music and the number of musicians needed.
Q: I purchased concert tickets, why do you also need my donation?
A: Tickets sales for the concerts makes up only about 15% of the budget. Over one-half of the RSO revenue comes from individual donations, corporate donations and special event fund-raisers.
Q: Does support of the RSO really benefit our community’s “Quality of Life”?
A: The RSO is a significant part of Rome/Floyd County’s thriving arts community. By hiring local, professional musicians, we help maintain household incomes, create jobs, attract businesses, and provide teachers for our young people. We offer residents and visitors to our community an Orchestra of the highest quality.
Q: Are there other ways I can help support the Rome Symphony Orchestra?
A: We offer advertising in our concert programs. We are also a wonderful way to honor someone on their birthday, anniversary or other special event in their life. We are always looking for volunteers to help at the concerts, with the Rome Symphony Guild, or with any of our wonderful Special Events.
